Remittances from Moldovans abroad accounts for 38% of the countries GDP. Officially recorded remittances to developing countries from abroad were $432 billion in 2015. Moldova has the lowest GDP per capita in Europe, and is ranked 125th in the world. Due to its strategic position between Europe and Asia, it has been invaded by several different empires. At times a vassal or tributary state, retaining autonomy but 'knowing its place'. The class system applied to both people and legal people. The European Union is 4.5 million km^2, but has 28* members. When people count how many countries they have visited, Europe helps pimp the count. There are 6 bigger countries, and India which is next has a population of 1.3 billion, to the EU's 510 million. The national discussion in Moldova is over unification with Romania. Romania joined the EU in 2007.
